I've received notification that I need to pay a customs/import fee. Why?
Because of international shipping, there may be occassions when an additional customs/import charge may be applied in order for you to receive your order.
These fees vary from nation to nation with various degrees of customs clearance. Some nations impose stricter fees, while others take a more relaxed approach to import fees.
If you receive a notification that you need to pay an additional fee, this is your resonsibility as the importer to pay the required taxes in your nation.
My order has been seized by customs.
Due to the nation of our products, certain nations may choose to inspect your parcel and in some rare instances seize the order if that nation classes the product as a restricted product.
In these unfortunate situations, there is nothing we can do other than issue you with a refund once we have confirmation from our delivery partners that this is the case.
Other custom issues
Recently international organisations (UN, EU, USA) have decided to implement a stricter screening process for international shipments. Certain names and organisations have been flagged as restircted for international shipping for various reasons (the most sever been terrorism related). If there is a match with your name and a name on the restricted list, your order may be held until you can provide the relevant information required.
Screening the partial name D GOMEZ results in 3 high matches that require manual screening leading to a delay.
Screening the full name DANIEL GOMEZ results in no high matches and the shipment will process normally.
Screening the partial name A ALI results in 106 high matches that require manual screening leading to a delay.
Screening the full name ABD AL-RASHID ALI results in no high matches and the shipment will process normally.
It is therefore important you use your full name (as it appears on your passport/ID) when making an order in order to avoid these ever stricter customs controls.
